GOOGLE: Trending Now
In 2024, I was tasked with leading the development of Google's first-ever, always-on social content series. Around the same time, I'd become enthralled with the Stanley cup phenomenon and was prototyping a story that reported on the cultural craze, through the lens of Google Trends Data. Stars and briefs aligned, and Trending Now was born.
Over the course of the next year, we launched dozens of pieces of content in response to real-time data and social listening, reporting on everything from hot dogs to hot pants. And while Stanley ultimately ended up shooting us down, Billie Eilish, John Cena and the WNBA, didn't. 💅🏼 Here are a few of my faves.
